I Slayed Atlanta For My Birthday
For my birthday I wanted to do some big city ballin out. I was kind of feeling nostalgic for Los Angeles, actual dance clubs and people taking pride in their appearance. Also Drake & Future were playing a concert. Need I say more? Through my work, I was able to get a discount at the Loews Atlanta Hotel. Located in Midtown off Peachtree it is right where all the fun bars are. The hotel is only 2.5 miles away from Phillips Arena and we were able to take the hotel's complimentary Mercedes Benz shuttle to the venue.
The hotel was fabulous. Kelsey and I were on the 26th floor, you needed a special key to get onto our elevator. Upon arrival the manager had set up Champagne and a cheese platter for us with a personalized note. We had a view of the entire Atlanta skyline from our beds. I felt like a spoiled little princess, except not to spoiled because I had too work for the discounted room haha.
Drake was awesome. Kelsey and I were the most turnt up in our entire section, we were actually surprised. The special guests that night was Usher, Young Thug and Gucci Mane. I can die happy.
The next day for brunch we ate at the South City Kitchen. It was a really special moment because Kelsey snuck off and told the waiter it was my birthday. I was totally surprised when he came out with a cake. I blew out the candle and suddenly the table next to me was outraged. This father eating with his family was like "HEY!!! WE WANTED TO SING HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU" . He gets up, gets his whole family up, gets the strangers sitting at the table next to him up and the waiter. They all form a group hug around me and start koombyaeeing. One girl is like "We are your family now" then they sang me happy birthday. It made me feel really special and appreciate the south because people here really are so genuinely friendly.
The second night we went out with the manager at the hotel. We told him we wanted to dance and he did not disappoint. He took us to the basement of a Mexican resturant that was playing ATL rap and dance hall reggaeton. We took a lot of patron shots in a short amount of time. Kelsey and I have a special power to make boys party and some how got all 4 of the manager's friends to loosen up and dance.
After the Mexican basement turn up we went to the infamous Claremont Lounge. This is one of the more interesting places I have been in my life. It is a bar for retired strippers located in an abandoned haunted old hospital or something creepy like that. You walk in and its packed, to the point you almost can't move. Theres all these old, fat, saggy naked women stripping on the bar. We watched a lady spark sparklers on her tits. Kelsey was not amused.
I will definitely be back to Atlanta. Being only a 3 hour drive away it is the perfect city escape from Nashville when you feel the need to treat yourself to the finer things in life and get your city hustle on.
